Design reveals might look effortless on Instagram, but the truth is: they’re anything but. Behind every perfectly placed throw pillow and styled bookshelf is months—sometimes years—of thoughtful planning, decision-making, and trust. The install, or “reveal,” is the moment it all comes together. And at Courtney Thomas Design, it’s the moment we live for.

Think of it as the grand finale—the culmination of creative visions, architectural decisions, mood boards, and material samples. After all the emails, the meetings, the renderings, and the hard choices (yes to velvet, no to lacquer), the installation is where your future home takes its first deep, beautiful breath.

Why We Install All at Once

Some designers prefer to deliver furniture in phases. We don’t.

At CTD, we believe in impact. That moment when you open the door and see your entire home—fully realized, fully styled—is pure magic. It’s more than just furniture showing up in boxes. It’s your lifestyle, values, and story translated into space. When install are done in pieces, the vision gets lost in the noise. One new sofa can feel disjointed without the art above it, the rug below it, or the lighting that gives it glow.

By installing everything at once, we protect the integrity of the design. You don’t see just a part of the puzzle—you get the full picture.

What Happens Behind the Scenes

Installation day(s) can range from one to five days depending on the scope of work. And while we adore our clients, this is the one time we’ll (politely) ask you to step aside so we can take over.

During this time, our team handles:

  • White-glove delivery and placement of all furnishings (indoor and outdoor)
  • Styling shelves, coffee tables, and surfaces with books, art, and curated objects
  • Hanging art and mirrors
  • Making beds and fluffing pillows
  • Removing packaging and debris so you return to a spotless home

It’s part design, part choreography. And while you’re away, your home becomes our studio—one where every inch is intentionally layered to deliver not just beauty, but harmony.

The Moment That Makes It All Worth It

We’ll never forget the look on our clients’ faces when they walk into their finished home for the first time. There are often happy tears (ours included). That reveal moment has an emotional weight that renderings, drawings, and even walkthroughs can’t fully capture.

Because the truth is: when a home is done right, it doesn’t just look good—it feels like you.

You’ll notice it as you walk from room to room—how the colors flow, how the textures warm up the space, how even the smallest details have intention behind them. It feels like a gift you get to unwrap again and again, every time you walk back through the door.

So yes, it takes time. Yes, it takes trust. But we promise: it’s worth the wait. And the best part? Your home isn’t just move-in ready. It’s you-ready.
